OK, with all my new Xmas yarn and everything I don't really need more stash. But today was the big 50% off sale at Posh. I decided the best way to take advantage of this event would be to get a significant quantity of one yarn, which I normally wouldn't be able to justify because of the cost. So after browsing the preview page to see what yarns were available in large quantities, I started going through patterns in Ravelry to come up with some ideas. I decided that there was enough of Amelia in several colourways to make a cardi, and I think I have narrowed it down to Spring Fling or Cavern. Leaning slightly towards Cavern, especially after seeing other people's in Ravelry...lots of variations, yarn substitutions, different sleeve lengths and other things.
Anyway, I calculated that 4 skeins of Amelia should be enough for either of these. Then I started looking for the right colour. There was a beautiful blue (Sceptre, I think) that I loved, but there were only 2 skeins in the sale. So I finally settled on Bon Mot. Then came the waiting until the sale went live, the usual nerves about being fast enough to check out, plus a bit of anxiety because I had made lunch plans and was getting picked up at the exact moment the sale page was going live....would I make it?? Luckily my ride showed up just a few minutes late, and my fingers were
fast enough. So heading my way is this:
I feel even more lucky now, because apparently the entire sale page sold out in 10-15 minutes. Can you imagine? Dee's head must be spinning as she processes all the orders! Plus, although it was a wee bit of a splurge, I feel very restrained and proud for making a well-thought out purchase and not getting tempted into any extra sock yarn or laceweight (and ooh, there was some yummy stuff!).
